Snapchat launches its revamped ‘faster’ Android app

Snapchat has finally rolled out its revamped app for Android. As revealed by the company, it was working on its Android version for last one and a half year, testing the redesigned version with select users. The company reportedly did this to bring performance for the Android version to make it equally good like the iOS version.

As reported by ‘The Verge’ on Monday the revamp doesnot bring any major changes in the navigation on the photo messaging app or in its user interface (UI) however the new version is much faster than the old version and with lesser bugs.

“With this new foundation I wouldn’t be surprised if you actually see things starting to come to Android even before iOS sometimes,” the report quoted Snapchat’s Vice President of Product, Jacob Andreou as saying.

Snapchat announced the release of the new Android version via Twitter with the hashtag — #SnapForAndroid and a picture of the ‘Snapchat Ghost’ smiling at the Android robot.

Initially, the photo messaging App Company tried with some alteration in the old version itself however it realized eventually that for achieving the results they will have to rewrite the app for the Android version.
