Smartphone brands to spend INR 330 crore on 2019 digital marketing budget: Report

A recent report generated by market research firm techARC unveiled on Tuesday that the smartphone brands will jointly boost the digital marketing budget in India by INR 330 crore this year , which is 20% higher in comparison to previous year.

Of the 330 crore, 26% of the digital marketing budget for smartphones will be consumed by social media marketing this year, according to the forecast by market research firm techARC.

Constituting for only 6% of overall marketing budget for the smartphone brands in India, the digital marketing budget amounts INR 330 crore. The figure is anyway higher than that of the print media with a 5% of marketing budget.

“Digital is increasingly becoming the preferred mode of marketing of smartphones as it helps brands t establish an engaging connect with the millennials, who are either the buyers or influencers for smartphones”, said Faisal Kawoosa, Founder and cheif Analyst at tectARC, in a statement.

On the whole, 47% of the marketing budget for smartphones in India will be spent on outdoor campaigns, 21% on television, 19% on retails, 6% on digital, 5% on print and 2% on radio, techARC said.
