At its annual F8 conference this year, the social networking giant Facebook announced a lot of privacy-focused makeovers for its platforms including Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp.
The company has made considerable changes to Instagram that include new camera design, Create Mode, introduction of donation sticker as well as an option to directly shop within the app.
Donation Sticker
As revealed by Instagram in an official blog post its Stories feature has already crossed a mark of 500 million users. The new feature called Donation Sticker added to the Stories section allows users to raise money for nonprofits directly from here. As disclosed by the company, the total amount raised through the donation sticker will go the nonprofit user is raising money for.
As far as the entire process for raising money is concerned, users first of all need to click on sticker icon and select the new donation sticker from there after uploading a photo. After this they will have to select the nonprofit they want to support, there they will get other tools to customize the fundraising activity. Once the donation sticker goes live, users can see the total amount raised by swiping up on their story.
Create Mode & New Camera Design
The new Create Mode by Instagram will allow users to add effects & interactive stickers to Stories and share without a photo or video.
The new camera design announced by Instagram will be available for the users in the coming weeks. Create Mode is a part of new camera design and the feature will be released globally soon.
Shop directly within the App
Users on Instagram now will not require leaving the app to make a purchase from creators as the new feature that will be rolled out next week allows the users to shop from creators directly within the app.
“Anyone in our global community will be able to shop from creators. We’ll begin testing this with a small group of creators next week,” Instagram said in its post.
