In a move to make live videos more interactive, Social media major Twitter has launched a new update that will allow its users to add up to three guests to a live broadcast. The feature was first introduced by the social media company in February this year on its live video streaming app Periscope.
The feature however will allow the users to broadcast in audio only and that guests after being added to the Live video will only be able to hear each other’s audio. The user who broadcasts the video will appear on the video and can invite up to three other users to join the video.
Everyone can hear the guests. The guest can drop off in between the session if they want and once the guests drop off, more people can be invited by the host to join.
As revealed by the tech company, they are working towards bringing an update that allows even guests to broadcast videos however for now the audio version is only available for them to join.
The new feature is being rolled out today.
Below are given the steps for help if users need to know how to invite guests to a live broadcast:
- Swipe left from your timeline or simply go to the Tweet composer to open the camera
- Tap the Live mode at the bottom left
- Tap the faces icon at the upper right for sending request to live viewers to join the broadcast
- Tap Go LIVE to start your broadcast
- You will see a notification in the chat once a viewer asks to join your broadcast
- Tap the ‘+’ button to add them to the live video
- You can remove the guests if require by tapping the X on the top right of their avatar
Users who are watching the live broadcast that already has guests added will see an icon allowing them to send request for joining.
Just like other posts published on Twitter, a live video can stay up for the time you want it to. Moreover, you can share the live video just like the way you share a tweet.
