There will soon be an “Ads” tab on the LinkedIn Pages that will show all the sponsored content run by an advertiser in the past six months.
According to the social networking company, they have made this change to bring more transparency to ads on the platform.
“At LinkedIn, we are committed to providing a safe, trusted, and professional environment where members can connect with each other, engage with relevant content, and grow their careers. Increased transparency to both our customers and members is critical to creating this trusted environment.”
The best part is the advertisers won’t be charged if the users click on the ads while viewing the ads from past six months and that clicks on ads from within the ‘Ads’ tab will also not affect the campaign reporting.
However, if utilized well, the new feature can offer a promising opportunity for conducting a competitor research and can prove a boon for advertisers from marketing perspective.
For instance, let’s say a company is seeing substantial success with its LinkedIn ads, marketers have a chance to go through their ads, conduct a research and find out as to what is that they are doing in particular that’s giving them good results. So, marketers can learn from them and implement things accordingly while running their own advertising campaigns.
However, marketers will have to grasp things looking at the ads as the ads won’t reveal facts behind how they are planned and created and that they won’t reveal information on their targeting strategy or the daily budget of the company. But whatever, it is not less that they are getting to see to conduct a competitor research.
As unveiled by LinkedIn, the feature is just one the many updates to arrive as the social media company is consistently working towards providing users with more and useful information about the ads that are shown on the platform.
The new Ads tab as announced will be rolled out globally in the coming weeks.
