YouTube to roll out a Tool That Creates 6-Second Ads Automatically

Google owned, YouTube is testing an automated tool called “Bumper Machine” that will help the advertisers in automatically creating a shorter version of their ads.

Done through machine learning, Bumper Machine creates a 6 second bumper ad by cutting down a longer ad say of 30 or 90 seconds.

As reported by TechCrunch, the video sharing social media company is currently alpha testing the Bumper Machine and that the tool will be rolled out worldwide once it is beta tested.  YouTube’s 6-second “bumper” ad format was introduced a few years ago.

As shared by GrubHub, a brief demo of the YouTube’s Bumper Machine will tell you about what you can expect from the tool.

In the clips below is an example of an original 13-second ad cut down by Bumper Machine to 6-seconds.

The original 13-second ad from GrubHub:

The 6-second version of the ad that was automatically created through the Bumper Machine:

Bumper machine looks for key elements in an ad that can be voiceovers, company logos or focus on specific people or products. One of the best thing about the 6 second video ad is there is always a call-to-action in its last two-to-three seconds.

Though the bumper Machine works fine like a machine would do but a little human intervention may patch up for a few machine shortcomings and may give you the results near to or exactly what you want.

As explained by Google’s VP of YouTube, Debbie Weinstein, Bumper Machine can be used by “many different advertisers of all shapes and sizes” and that the machine delivers “three to four executions, the best guesses” with the advertisers going through those to “decide which of the three or four is best.”
