Google Replaces Adwords Editor with Ads Editor Version 1.0

Recently Google rebranded Adwords to Google Ads and now the search giant is launching the new Google Ads Editor replacing the Adwords Editor. The company has not only done the rebranding of the Adwords Editor but also has added new feature to the newer version of ads editor.

We waited to formally announce the new Google Ads brand on an Editor release that incorporates a significant update that addresses long-standing requests from the community.”

The following features are now available in Google Ads Editor v1.0:

Multiple account support

Users will now be able to select and open multiple accounts in a single window, and can make edits across them.

Streamlined editing

It allows users to make changes faster by offering them with a fresh new look that reduces visual clutter and gives them a space for unruffled productivity.

Full support for non-skippable video ads

Users will now get a full support for non-skippable in-stream video campaigns, ad groups, and ads.

Custom rules updates

  • Google Ads Editor version 1.0 includes 5 new custom rules that will alert users if:
  • A Search Network campaign’s ad group has no responsive search ads
  • Google video partners are not getting targeted by a video campaign
  • A keyword or topic is being targeted by a video discovery ad group
  • If only a YouTube search is being targeted by a TrueView campaign still it only has TrueView in-stream video ads
  • A video campaign is using an average daily budget in spite of the fact that it has a start and end date

Ad strength indicator

 

The feature assigns each of the ads a quality rating.

“When reviewing your responsive search ads in Google Ads Editor, you’ll now see an “Ad strength” column, which assigns each of your ads a quality rating. Hover over an ad’s rating to get suggestions for how to improve the quality of that ad. Note: this feature is currently only available in English”

Maximize conversions for TrueView for action campaigns

Google Ads Editor now supports the Maximize conversions bid strategy for TrueView for action campaigns.

Maximize conversions for display campaigns

Users will now be able to use the Maximize conversions bidding strategy for display campaigns and Smart Display campaigns.

New support for App campaigns

For App campaigns, this version of Google Ads Editor will support:

  • Campaign-level assets as well as ad groups and ads
  • Target return on ad spend (ROAS), Maximize conversions, and Target cost-per-action (CPA) bid strategies
  • The in-app action value optimization goal

Audience targeting in Smart Display campaigns

Smart Display campaigns will now allow audience targeting (including the ability to exclude audiences).

Bumper campaigns are now video campaigns

Earlier what was Bumper campaigns have now become video Campaigns

“Bumper video campaigns are now simply video campaigns that have a Manual cost-per-thousand impressions (Manual CPM) bid strategy. If you like, you can change your bidding strategy to Target cost-per-thousand impressions (Target CPM), which will allow you to add in-stream ads to these campaigns.
